Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Article Published

October 1, 2022

CLARITY team members have published the Evaluating perinatal and neonatal outcomes among children with vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome paper in the Genetics in Medicine journal. This research involved 41 children with pathogenic or likely pathogenic COL3A1 variants.  The investigators found that preterm birth is more common in children with VEDS than in the general population. The status of the mother was not found to be associated with preterm birth, suggesting that risk is conferred by the fetal VEDS diagnosis alone.
